Location: North texas | A bit of a longshot, but wondered if anyone recognized this horse. Teenage years, bad left knee. Was pulled from the kill pen lot in Davenport, OK about 6 weeks ago. Pretty sure he was a barrel horse. Trying to get him sound enough for a light use trail horse for the kids at my inlaws ranch. He is about as sweet and mellow as they come on the ground.

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | Dont know him but he looks like a super sweet fella, I just dont understand people why send him to a kill pen when he seems like a sweet guy, {oh thats right hes got a bad knee so lets just send him off}. Was thinking to myself about that bad knee. Thanks for giving him a chance, you got a good heart  |

Location: North texas | More like I am a big sucker, lol. He is so darn sweet. Had a lot of training at some point. It's really sad all the horses that get sent off. Would rather them go on the road to hell to Mexico than die a slow long painful death of starvation neglected, but it is certainly the lessor of two evils and awful either way. This old guy looks just like my first horse when I was 12 and I just couldn't stand it. |

Location: North texas | No brands at all. Just a big hard left knee. Looks like he has had it awhile. Getting the vet and farrier out this week to see if we can get him a little more flexibility in it. We can at least give him a good life going forward. He was someone's baby at one point in his life. |

I'm like everyone else---just don't understand how when they've given us their all in their "good" years we can just dump them in the hellhole that is the kill pen when age or an injury happens. . . . Again, thank you for giving him his second chance. |

I bought my husband a TWH that had a knee like that. It was about twice as big around as the other one, and stiff- he couldn't even pick his foot up all the way on that side, and his gait was a little off.
It was an old injury, and the vet said he had limited range of motion, but he was sound. He would go on hours long trail rides running off and leaving all of our QH, and rack up a storm and never have a lame step. We kept him for several years, and traded him to some friends of ours that had young daughters. They still have him, and he is now the mom's horse. She didn't ride until after they got him, but he is the trustworthy one. He has to be nearing 30 now, and has never had any trouble out of the knee that I know of. He was about 15 when we got him, and the people we got him from and the prior owners both said he had it when they got him, so it was an old injury. |

Location: Carpenter, WY | We had a Shinning Spark son with a big knee and roped on him for a long, long time before we finally sold him. Your guy sure looks like a sweetie :)
