I like the roper style the best, all my cinches are roper styles except for one that is the straight because my one gelding seems to like it better. Hes just a tad short underneath. |

Location: Texas | I have never used a roper fleece cinch, but I know the roper mohair cinches stay wide too far up the sides for my horses. They end up rubbing in the elbow area. So I stay with straight, both in fleece & mohair, for this reason. (Unless I find one that is wide just under the belly then gets narrow quickly so it doesn't interfer behind the leg.) |

Check out the Cactus, mohair cinchs, the one I bought last week is this way, wide under belly but narrows out pretty quick. |

Location: Oklahoma | I have always bought roper styles, but I have been told by a well respected saddle maker that barrel racers should be in straight cinches since we don't ask our horses to take the pressure of roping a calf and that roper styles can alter how your saddle fits.
Anyone else heard this?? |
