Speed Queens have been around for as long as I can remember...At least 45 years. They made commercial machines only and didn't know they are now making machines for the home. We looked into buying a front load when we moved to Texas 20 years ago and they were almost $3,000. and we just couldn't do it at the time. We ended up with a Frigidaire front loader and it was awesome and then they cheapened them up so we know have a Samsung and I like it but it wasn't as nice as my Frigidaire Gallery.
We have terrible water and I started to get a musty smell that I never had problems with the Frigidaire front loader. It seems the liquid detergents suck for front loaders. I changed to powder and haven't had a problem since. Did take a lot of empty washes with vinegar, baking soda and the Tide washing machine stuff to get the odor out of the rubber gasket.

I have a Kenmore front load that I got from my mother in law because she wanted a different color lol. I think it was 5 yr when I got it. I LOVE it. I just leave the door open until the last load is out of the dryer to let it air out and dry and have no problems with it smelling.

we just bought a whirlpool duet front load washer. my first front load. It does a great job of cleaning greasy dirty clothes
(husband mechanics, cuts wood, etc
). I am happy with it so far. We'll see how it handles winter clothes lol!
It has a quick wash option, delicates, heavy duty, sanitize, normal, that's all I can remember lol! I just throw in one of those soap packets and skip using the soap tray thing...

We are on our 2nd Samsung front load. This one has steam. We have ad absolutely no odor issues with either washer. The first one just wore out after years.... We love ours -- love the various wash options and it does a great job - uses less water and electricity and due to the spin, clothes take much less time to dry. We leave a small mouse cat toy
(!!
) in our door to leave it a bit open - always have. The same little mouse has been holding the door for years and years....
