| A vet came out today to take a look at my horse's injury from August. The scar tissue is very prominent. He suggested x-rays to see what's really going on inside there and to determine if he can even cut it out (depending on if it's soft and flexible to work with). My horse is not lame. I am curious to know what method of therapies you recommend and if you would even have a vet cut it out at all, and what would your protocol be if this were your horse. I haven't dealt with this before and it's really concerning to me because I am afraid it could hinder his future career in the arena. The wound itself has healed significantly. The swelling, unfortunately, has been doing whatever it wants to. I've been spraying liquid DMSO on it and putting Vetericyn on the scabby part (which is thin).

A few people have recommended products like that as well. Never used them. I've got to hook my horse up! Thank you |

It is copper AND magnetic therapies, so both in one product. Truly awesome and so beneficial! |

| My mare has an injury that looks almost exactly like your horses. It did not bother her and she wasn't sore but there was a lot of scar tissue. I started leaving my PHT MagnaCu wraps on her every night in her stall and I was very impressed with the healing. The leg came back to normal size and scab shrunk. |

Good news!! I'm definitely getting wraps after hearing all the success others have had in cases similar to this |

| How does it flex, what do the X-rays say, and what does ultrasound say?
There are a lot of tendons and ligaments that go through there, I would make sure none of those are damaged.
I would also make sure the inflammation didn't cause arthritis to develop in the joint ( this happens way more then you suspect)
After the diagnostics, I would be discussing the pros and cons with my vet about everything.
As a rule of thumb the largeness will reduce in size over the years, if it is just soft tissue |

| If your horse is not lame, other than the magnets/wraps etc., I'd absolutely leave it alone. You let the vet start poking around in there and stirring things up or cutting something that shouldn't be cut you could create problems. I've seen horses with fetlocks much bigger than that from scar tissue that never missed a beat and were extremely competitive! |
