Location: Central Texas | Does anyone have one? Does anyone know anything about surveillance systems? I know I want to be able to record what goes on while I'm not there and it would be a bonus if I could watch it remotely but that part is not a requirement. I have absolutely no idea about any of this stuff. Do I have to have internet in the barn....I do have electricity out there but the barn is too far from the house to pick up my wireless internet. Any suggestions or tips.....I do not want to spend thousands but am willing to spend a couple hundred. |

Location: At the race track with Ah Dee Ohs | I don't know what kind of cameras they are, but our TB trainer has them in his barn at Remington Park. They can remote in from their phones and see what's going on in the barn from their house miles away. I will see if I can find out. |

| We have it. Records and I can watch it from all times on my phone from the app AseeproHD. it is an 8 camera system, but i only have 4 of them up and running. Yes you have to have wireless. We have an antenna on the barn for wireless, but im sure you could get regular wireless internet as well.
I can look and see what brand the camera system is and I want to say the cameras were around $800, but we bought 2x as many as needed.. My father in law owns the communication company for the internet so I dont know what that would cost. |

Location: Colorado plains standing on a goat head! | For one or two cameras and if you have wi-fi, Dropcam may be a good option, we have one in our office. I hear they are coming out with outdoor cameras soon. I bought ours at Best Buy. |

Location: Central Texas | Thank you! Yes, I would appreciate it, to all who offered to find out what kind you have and where I can find them. I'm trying to research but I just don't know what a good brand is and how big of a hard drive is enough. I'm thinking 4 camera's would be good enough for me.

| Look on Amazon for a bunch that run under $500 that talk to a receiver and screen in your house with no problems ... and don't forget to look at the simple deer hunter game cameras that run off solar power ... all of the above record for hours and then starts a new cycle of recording when memory runs out ... most game cameras are also infrared ..
prices have come way down on all of these surveillance systems... and LED solar powered lights ..
Also .. there are LED movement lights that are under $50 with 80+ LED'S in them that run off of solar power ... they are good anywhere ... these are good when dark and you are trying to find the light switch in the barn... lol ... or emergency light ... if power goes out ..
I have one in my travel trailer when I go boondocking to save my onboard batteries .. plus two in the barn .. most times I never turn on the barn lights when checking horses.

Thank you, I have never seen those. I have a basic Moultrie game cam but it requires that I go pull the card out and download to a computer... which is not convenient. |

Thank you. I did look on Amazon...just wasn't sure what was a good brand and still not super sure how I'm going to hook this all up. The barn is about 250 - 300 ft from the house. I tested my wifi out last night and I can not pick up a signal from the barn. Now I'm looking at hardwiring it from the house. I want to be able to look at a screen while in the house or at work and see what is going on. I have suspicions that the neighbor has been messing around in my pasture and barn but I can't prove it. If I just put a game cam out and she sees it she could just take it but if I can have cameras out there that go to a dvr in the house then game over and I got her caught on dvr. |

| Go to foalingcamera.com or google riverbend supply. I just purchased this at a large trade show. Will see how it goes, but it seems like a great product, and the owner was great explaining it and helping to set it up. |
