Location: Georgia | I have a yearling that is eligible to be enrolled under FF. I have the form and check written out, sitting on my table ready to mail off. I'm just wondering if it's worth it. I know in retrospect that's not much money. I have a mare im running now that is FF enrolled and in the past 4 years I have gone to only one FF race with her. They just aren't abundant here in the southeast. I dont have any big plans to futurity this filly. If I stay consistent with her training I may try one her 4 year old year just for the exposure. I do not plan on selling her so I'm not worried about that. What do you guys think? I honestly don't know much about the program. Give me some advantages to enrolling one. |

Location: Oklahoma | I would. Even if you don't futurity hard and get out and haul aggressively there is still a chance their schedule of races will expand and you could be missing out in a few years.....and it's not getting any cheaper to enroll! |

Location: MD | I don't see any good reason not to. The FF program is expanding to more and more Open races, so the potential for us here on the East Coast is improving. I also feel like FF has done a ton for the industry and I like to support things that support those who make a living breeding, training and competing. |

| I paid my weanling in full to FF because if he's showing promise I plan to haul him. Plus it's only $150 when they are that young...and if you might sell your horse, it's worth it to someone else who might want to haul to FF races. |

Location: Texas | I have a two yr old that is paid in, a five year old that is paid in, an eight year old and a thirteen year old that were both elgible but never paid in. So wish I would have paid them in as yearlings. Speaking from experience... just do it! I will probably never sell mine, but there are a few open shows with added money now which I would guess will only increase as the program continues to grow and it is always nice for resale (just in case). I sold a two year old that was paid in and I think it definately helped to get what I wanted for him. |

Location: You never know where I will show up...... | Do it! I enroll any of mine that I can, even if I don't keep them someone else might buy them to run, and it's nice to have them eligible for that bonus money. There are open races as well as the futurities that have Future Fortunes $$$. As a stallion owner myself, I pay a couple grand a year to have my stallion nominated into the program. So, personally, I like to see people taking advantage of me paying in, and enrolling those babies. |

Location: Oklahoma | I support and promote the FF program. I am currently hauling 4 FF horses and specifically look for FF horses when I make a purchase. The side pot money for the open shows is great. Doesn't hurt when you futurity either. I am looking to breed a mare or two in 2016 and I will only look at FF stallions. |

| FYI.... Due date is December 1st. I've nominated all my eligible foals. Seems like a good investment. |

| The only down side I have experienced is when I had a futurity horse with a top futurity trainer. She had a lot of really nice horses in the barn. My mare was third a few times behind two other horses she was hauling. I wasn't aware they had a rule that limits the rider to only placing on the top two horses. I'm not sure I agree with the rule since the stallion owner (who pays nomination fees), breeder, and myself as the owner (one of which pays nomination fees) are the only ones that get checks from the program. The rider really doesn't benefit from the program in any way. We missed out on about $1000 over two weekends. |

Really? That seems crazy to me. Maybe I better look at the rules a little better? |

| It was disappointing... I have however made enough off of them that I'll still pay into it with all my eligible foals. I really think they need to rethink that rule though. If you're willing to pay into the program and pay all that money to have a horse trained and hauled you should be able to place in the program no matter what your trainer does with their other owners horses.
Tomorrow is the due date to pay in to it though. I'd pay the money now while it's still $250. Once it goes up, it may not be worth it. If you ride your own you'll never have this problem. |
