Didn't see it before, so can't comment.
Although, I find it interesting that those of us who frequent BHW would 'critique' the folks at the NFR. However, agree that some of us BHW folks could benefit from someone's observations and desscriptions of those runs. Certainly not me, my brain can't even function as fast as those women have to act in that teenie little pen, much less have my brain tell my body to do something!
Look forward to it.
I use the word critique very loosely. It really is more observations and discussion of what went well, or didn't and potentially why.
BTW... you might be surprised at who all frequents BHW ;) |

That's the definition of critique. People get hung up on the similarity to the word criticize and the negative connotation that carries. "So n so can't ride a stick horse" would be a pointless criticism. "She dropped her weight forward and inside approaching the barrel causing her horse to lead with his shoulder and cut off the pocket, which made him take a step off behind and cost them time" is something you can learn from. |

^^^^^ THIS.......the NFR contestants are not some kind of "idols" to be adored......they ALL (and their horses) make mistakes or make fantastic runs......and if you watch maybe (just maybe), we can all learn from them.......same as attending a clinic and watching others in the pen!!! |

Location: South Central Florida | I can't wait!!! I appreciate the insite but I do wish people did not get so upset when someone says something seen as bad. In past years, I have seen a few riders that I had to wonder how they got there. Maybe it was just the pressure and the tiny pen, but I have never seen them get back. There are NFL Players and every other pro sport that sometimes a player just doesn't have "it". Maybe they had talent, or luck to get in but once there they just don't have the talent or work ethic to stay. Although I do see what I would call nasty posts on other sports, there is always someone there to disagree and argue HAHA so there ya go. I won't get to probably until tomorrow, I'm watching from bed and hoping to fall asleep immediately after barrels! |
