I love neoprene cinches too. Never had a problem. I get the roper style. I love the classic equine soft touch and I just bought the professional choice ven tech. I think neoprene of lesser quality is where the issues may be coming from. Don't get the cheap junk ones. The horse will tell
You what they do and don't like :). But overall I love them. I do use alpaca cinches too but I think there is less slipping with the neoprene.

I've used neoprene for years too. Never have had a problem.

I personally like the VenTech cinches from Professionals Choice.

WetSaddleBlankets - 2015-12-01 10:11 AM  I have always used wool cinches... it be felt or the fluffy ones. I switched to the air flex cinch due to the ease of cleaning since I ride multiple horses.  I really like the air flex cinch because it is not neoprene but yet super easy to clean. However, I have been seeig some info on the new shoulder relief cinch... https://totalsaddlefit.com/cinch/ . They come in wool or neoprene. I am spoiled now that I have been using the air flex cinch because of its ease of cleaning, it makes me not want to go back to wool. Anways I am now thinking how bad is the neoprene? I know some horses can be sensitive to it. Mine seem to be ok BUT it also does not breath very well.... What are your thoughts on neoprene cinches???

I have that cinch and LOVE IT!!!!!!!! When I ordered mine they did not have the fleece option, just the neoprene. It does get sweaty under there quickly but I've had no problems with sensitivity or galling (and my gelding is a wuss-he doesn't even like stiff brushes or regular curry combs). It also stays in place really well. TBH I've used mohair and felt back cinches on this horse as well and have not noticed ANY difference in his comfort with any of them. Since the liners are interchangeable I still might get the fleece just to see but I've been extremely happy with the design and quality of this cinch and will never buy another kind. My horse has a very forward girth groove. Every cinch/saddle wants to slide right up to his front legs, but this cinch solved that completely.
