New Mexico BBs!!!!!!!!!!!
I"m Jealous!

Hey everyone!
I am considering a possible change of scenery from chilly Northwest
(washington state
) to Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. One of my biggest concerns regarding a move is how many local
(ie less than 4 hours away
) jackpots and rodeos would be available. Where I am right now, there are MANY jackpots within 2 hours of here almost year round and I can easily circuit rodeo without traveling more than 6 hours. Input please?!
GO!!!

I'm considering a move to NM to get out of this Texas summer heat. But I'm no longer competing - I just want to trail ride.
Maybe you should move my direction? There are barrel races within 50 miles every day of the week. But I'll have to warn you - summer is BRUTAL.

T or C is butt ugly. You will have to travel the whole state for races, but it only taks about 3 hours in each direction. And races are here and there. Mostly rodeo. Not many 4d's. If you love hitting races every weekend, i do not advise NM. Lived there 15 years too long. Live in SE texas now and LOVE it. Oh and the wind blows 90% of the time. So if you like wind, you'll love it lol Good luck.

T or C is a cpl hours from ALBQ and I have soem friends there and around Belen that go to 4d's a lot. 90-ish minutes from Belen, 90-ish Miles to Deming where another friend lives and goes to 4d's. Thats all the help I can offer lol.

T Or C is ugly but there is races in Belen about two hours from there to the north. There's some races in Las Cruces which is about hour half south. Albuquerque also has some races at the fairgrounds once a month and Grants NM. Moriarty Rocking horse ranch has a great arena and put on nice races. If you stay out of the drama scene they can all be a lot of fun with good people.

My hubby has family in T or C. I gather it's more of a hippy retirement place, not really a horse or ranch place.
