Throwing Rear End out of Turn

What are some exercises you guys do to keep a horse's pivot foot down and its rear end underneath them while turning a barrel?
I know roll backs, jr cow horse bits, and bonnets give the horse the tendency to put its rear end down instead of it passing them up in the turn and spinning out as I call it.
But what else is there?

Training a horse to shift their way backwards and having complete control of their body at any speed works better than anything. This can literally start the first day in the saddle based on how they are asked to turn. Do they just go in a circle or were they asked to shift weight back and then turn Hand
position has a lot to do with this. Gadgets might help some but training, conditioning, and drills for the hind end are the only real ways to consistently accomplish it.
ETA: also make sure your horse is sound in the back end. A sore horse, perfect training or not, will often let their back end drift.

If your horse is swinging its butt out in the turns then its not rating going into the barrels, you have got to have rate. Most horses that I see runing and not rating will do what your horse is doing

RE: Throwing Rear End out of Turn
I always kick their hip/inside leg in going up to and around the barrel. I have one mare who is rough to ride because she would like to swing her rear end, but this drill has helped immensely. It's become such a routine to her that she kicks her hip in on her own when I'm doing slow work.

This is the experience I have had. If they are slinging their rear end out of the turns, they are not rating down and collecting.
