It has gotten worse since illegals have flooded here..I will say I dont think they sell for 20 bucks a lb out of the trucks siince it goes to poor areas as well from what I understand.. i had a man I thought was legal living in my barn apt in wellington (Palm beach) where there are plentiful of illegals.. I dint check papers because he did side work for a trainer down the road. he did stalls, fed, turned out and did a good job . But there was a ration of car burgeries in my area and I noticed he was coming home at 3 am or 4 am . One day I peeked on apt and sure enough it was covered with radios, and so on... they appear nice.. WRONG..its how they are raised..sorry offtopic
Not off topic at all Bibs. I guess it seems so Taboo for a person to even consider doing anything like that because we were all raised differently.
I remember my daddy praying a quick whispered prayer before he shot anything we were about to eat. Thanking God for the meat and praying that the shot took them quickly with no pain/fear and that nothing was wrong with the meat so it wouldn't be wasted. That's how I was raised... You never shot anything for fun, you never shot anything you wouldn't eat, and you never shot anything for profit...  |

| I do not know how many Muslims are in the area but in order for their meat to be Halal meat and fit for them to eat according to their religious beliefs, the animal must not already be dead when the animals throat is slit and the animal must be facing Northeast (I think) when it is killed. I know someone who sells them a lot of young sheep and they slaughter on his property.
The point being, they are following their religious principles and see no perversion in their slaughtering practices. I am not condoning it, it is, however, what they believe. Now stealing someone else's animal is a whole 'nother matter. Apparently that is not against these particular thieves' beliefs. I guess if you steal from an infidel it is not stealing eh? |

I hope you didn't think that I was defending them! Just pointing out that due to religious and cultural differences, you'll be hard pressed to convince those committing these offenses that they are doing anything wrong.
We will continue to see this sort of thing happen against animal AND human unless we stem the tide of illegal immigrants into this country, with no controls and answerable to no one, and the current atmosphere of political correctness tat says we must hold these illegals own culture above our own does nothing but contribute to the problem. If they don't like it where they came from,why must they come here and insist on living the same way?!!! |

I think, if I'm interpreting your posts correctly, that you're correct in that us slapping them on the wrist and saying no no bad don't do this, they won't understand why it's bad and repeat offend. Kind of like what Bibs was saying: they were raised differently and I will add in, Savagely... As far as agreeding with their beliefs and practices, I do not at all agree with their beliefs and stand by my own wholeheartedly.
On an OT note Everyone is allowed to believe what they believe unless you are a single, white, middle class Christain American with a gun in the South.... At that point, according to our government, you have no rights to believe or express your beliefs in anything at any point in time  .... |

Location: Midwest | I don't think Muslims, in general, eat horse meat. Lots of lamb and chicken, and they Halaal is about the butchering and preparation (like Kosher). Muslims don't eat pork. I'm not sure if they eat beef or not.
Eating horse meat is huge in latin and spanish culture. In spain, they prep it as a street food.
I'm not averse to comsupmtion, but I think it is sick that people are stealing pets. However, it happens everyday. This is a really profitable crime. Cats and dogs are also being stolen now and sold or "rehomed" on craigslist.
Very sad that these people lost their animals. I am thankful that is not a problem in my area. |

Hang on to your hats. Since Obama has made nice with Cuba thousands of Cuban immigrants are headed this way who have been on hold in Central American trying to get here. I predicted this.
