Long story short, my mare fell while at my vet's office for a procedure and ended up tearing a hamstring muscle. Vet recommended 90 days stall rest, with hand walking after 30 days stall rest. She is currently in a small turnout during the day when turned out. She currently appears sound on the leg at a trot. He was confident she would be able to return to performance sound.

I have rehabbed horses and brought them back from tendon injuries but a torn muscle is something new to me. Anyone brought one back from a muscle tear? What did you do to slowly get them conditioned again? thanks

I would think a lot of walking and trotting. Maybe some stretches on the ground? I just have heard how bad they are and how long they take to heal.
