Stumbled upon a nicely bred filly for sale. Her grandma(second dam) is the dam of both the sire and the dam of the filly. Granddam has produced almost 300k in money winners from the track and barrel pen. Would this scare you or make you think twice about purchasing her? TIA

I imagine something like that was done on purpose to concentrate more of the resulting babies blood through her. I guess it wouldn't bother me. I actually prefer it that way, than through a sire. I would take a baby by Stoli and out of a daughter of Strawberry Silk ANY DAY!!!!!

For me, it would completely depend if there were also some common ancestry on the top side of the pedigree.

It wouldn't scare me at all. I don't mind line breeding to concentrate on the "greats".

Take a look at the stallions advertised in the recent Barrel Horse stallion magazine..............most are douple bred Dash For Cash or Dash Ta Fame.

Personally, I have NO problem with linebreeding and I'm not sure why some people do.

I would die if this mare was bred that well. She’s by a frenchmans guy son. However finding anything decently bred in my price range(broke college kid) is a feat. Thanks for all the responses everybody. Hoping to find time to see her this weekend.
