| I've been trying a csi pad with the 3/4in liner and my saddle rolls and it just doesn't feel right. Will a 1/2in liner make a difference or should I look into a saddleright pad? |

| I would say the saddle is probably a little too narrow.
I converted to csi pads 5 years ago, and ride various shapes of horses with properly fitting saddles, and haven't had one roll. |

Location: North Dakota | Sounds like the pad is too thick. In my experience, CSI pads only work with saddles that are too wide for the horse. If the saddle fits like it "should" a 1/2"-3/4" pad is the most you'll need. My Meleta is this way. A CSI with a 1/2" liner was WAY too thick. My saddleright is supposed to be here tomorrow. |

Location: North Dakota | How many times have you rode the pad? If you haven't put a good sweat on it-do it and see if that makes a difference-I think there is a little "break in" time with them. I have 4 with 4 different horses/saddle combo's all but 1 is 3/4" liner and we don't have saddles that roll-and I'm pretty sure our saddles don't fit perfectly. If your saddle fits perfectly the saddleright is an excellent option too. |

| The pad I'm borrowing is a used one from a friend. So it should be broken in. My horses have flat backs with not very prominent withers. I'm thinking the 3/4in liner is just too thick. But will a 1/2in liner make any difference? |

Yes. 3/4" is way to thick. If your saddle fits correctly on your horse you shouldn't have to have a 3/4" thick pad. I would go to a 1/2 and see how that works for you. |

Location: North Dakota | I think the concept of the saddleright and CSI are very similar-with me the saddleright pad was great if your saddle fit exceptionally well. I ride a couple different horses and the CSI is what helps me get by without having to buy a different saddle for every horse I ride. |

I'm a pad junkie...my Saddleright pad is 10-15 yrs. old and still going strong, I love it, a saddle sits so perfectly on them. I'm really torn between if I like the Saddleright, CSI or 5 Star better...I think it's personal preference, but the Saddleright has this great natural fit without bottoming out at any time ever, and you can keep it new by using liners under them.
I also like the CSI pads, but never buy over the 1/2" and have never had problams with them. I bought a 5 Star for my cutting saddle because I needed a longer pad for it, and I love it...I went with the thinner one in that too...thick pads don't feel good to me under a saddle (but then, I'm not roping, either)... |

| I love my CSI. I ride three different horses in it and fits them all well. All of them have high withers so I can't say how it would fit on s horse that is rounder |

I have serveral different saddle pads including a saddleright and I prefer my saddleright over anything else I have. IMO they are great pads, especially to use with sports saddles. |

| I bought a CSI with a 1/2" liner, at the time I was borrowing a saddle while mine was being made. It was great, no issues what so ever. Once I received my new saddle (which was custom fit for my horse) my pad started sliding all over the place. Absolutely hated it. At a race I would have to get off to adjust everything every 20 minutes. Ended up selling it and bought a 5 star. No slipping issues since switching! |

| I found out about the roll the hard way (and that my young horse holds some air and does not appreciate it when my saddle goes sideways and I'm hanging on for dear life)
I have to cinch a little tighter with my CSI (1/2" liner) then i do with my 5 star, but the saddle doesn't fit the horse I use the CSI on quite as well just yet either, as he fills out it should work better and my goal is to get to my 1/2" 5 star. I keep the CSI for less than ideal fits and check my girth often.
I tried a saddle right and my horse hated it. I could literally switch back and forth between my 5 star and the saddle right in the same ride and have a totally different horse.
We rope now almost exclusively in 1 1/8" 5 stars. Fantastic pads, just about every other pad has been tossed in the burn barrel.

Location: Texas | Yes they do that's why I ride 5 star pads! 5 star pads are the best in my opinion. |
