Wire mesh fencing for horses and dogs

We have bought a new place, five acres with a six stall barn, arena and shop. In addition to the horses, we breed and show labradors, so have "a few" dogs. ;-
) About half the property is already fenced and there are pastures for the horses, but we need to completely fence the whole thing so we can safely let all our dogs out. I've been thinking of using the graduated mesh wire with smaller openings at the bottom and the about 4" squares at the top, as it is about 1/3 the price of the no-climb horse wire. But I realized a hoof could fit through the top squares and wonder how safe it is. I hate to save a few hundred $ only to injure a horse. Has anyone used that kind of wire and do you recommend it? Thanks!

I only use the 2x4 inch no climb horse fence. It you put it up properly and put a hot wire on top it will last forever. Every other field wire I've had horses get hooves into so I won't use it.
