I was with a guy last weekend who I purchased my White Lighting Ike mare from and we were talking about Mel Potters program and this guy said that many ropers dont like them because they have no stop.  I dont know if that is true or not, but that was his opinion. I've been around lots of ropers and never even heard his name come up.

From the looks of the aqha report, he only has 1 registered foal from 2014 and 4 from 2013.  I'm kinda surprised Mel isn't breeding more of his own mares to him and promoting him a little more.

That does seem strange, I had heard that they were crossing Dinero daughters on him. Wonder why the low numbers ?????

If you do not bred to your stallion...no one else will.....

Just my two cents.

Is there a certain reason he isn't breeding him? Are there traits about the offspring that are not making them marketable?

I am not sure...the saying is a old age verbiage that has been used for years.... The stallion himself is not bred for what I practically bred for. I have never paid close attention to him.

However, with that being said...I think it raises the question, why are they not breeding to their own horse?
