My buddy had an own son & I loved that horse!!! Wish He was still alive so I could breed all the mares but the appy to him!!! Kinda hard to find an own son of Vital Sign out of a Top Moon Daughter!!! Ive been lookin for another Vital Sign son bred close to him on bottom... The homozygeous black didnt let the appy gene come threw on the stud colt our mare had But He was the Best lookin Quarter type appy youve ever seen!!! Down to the blaze & 4 white socks on a black horse lol I figured keep the baby from fadin like its momma but I later talked to an Appy genetics guru that explained Why I got what I did... Wish My Corona Cartel grand son looked as good!!!
Ive never done barrels on any but I would say You should have a good horse!!! If its an own Daughter You can just bring her to Me :)

I found a Vital Sign son here in NM. I have 2 full sisters by Major Rime out of an own daughter of Rocket Wrangler who he self goes back to War Chant and The Ole Man. Do your like the personality of the Vital Sign son your buddy had? Was he easy to get along with and how easy was his offspring to train?

This is one of my broodmares. She has an excellent personality, very friendly. We only got 4 foals out of her, and unfortunately she won't carry anymore. http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/special+sign

I have a picture of her and one of her sons on my phone, I'll try to post them. I've had bad luck with her foals (fractured coffin bone, stifle tear to name a few!), and so far haven't really gotten to run them. I have two that are just about old enough. One is going to finish his career at the track first, and I hope to have the other ready to enter this summer. All of her foals have been very friendly and pretty easy to get along with. Very athletic. This has been my only experience with this line, but I'm sure impressed. I can't remember for sure who ran her, but the mare Sign Of Passion did very well and I'm pretty sure ran at the NFR.

Edited - Guess I'm not smart enough to upload from my phone! The only picture I could upload was one of her son!

Not sure where the stockings came from, but his momma stamped all of her foals with that blaze. That picture is from when he was at the trainers and she had him shined up and fit. We have started all four of the foals out of that mare, and they've all been easy to start, willing, and athletic. Very friendly and easy to get along with. The dam is out on pasture, and she'll come up to us to get loved on. The daughters that got hurt are turned out with her, and they're the same way. We like them so much that we've decided to leave this colt intact. Great personalities and attitudes.

Thank you for the input I greatly appreciate all the information you have shared with me. I am quite sure the Vital Sign son I have found is my breeding choice this year!
