The ones I missed in here is where people are walking and talking 2-3 sometimes 4 horses thick..... And you are trying to zigzag around them..., and also when people let their kids warm up without keeping an eye on them.... Most of the times I get run into by someone it is a little kid on a hyped up horse... |

Yep can't stand that. Also I was always told, slow on the inside, fast on the outside. |

Location: Missouri | In my older age I have gotten more vocal about people doing rude things. Ex, stopping and not looking to back up or turn around. I will flat chew rear end if you throw on the brakes without looking. |

Location: where ever my L/Q trl is parked | right you tell one of these teenagers to please not talk on their cell phone while warming up see who gets chewed on. One such young lady told me to take a hike and she will **** well do what she pleases.... and she wasn't so kindly, this was a few years ago. Then recently someone told me I'm not their mother or gmother so I can't talk down to them- after they ran into me. I'm 65 and this person was 19 in college. I give up trying to understand these people. |

Location: Tulsa, Ok | As long as we are talking about indoor etiquette, lets discuss the people who feel compelled to tie their horses indoors in the most high traffic areas, such as around the arena gate, and then leave them unattended for hours on end. I am kinda sick of watching them pin their ears and kick at everyone that passes. I could also pass on those hacking and smearing their snotty noses around. |

Location: Running barrels or watching nascar | It's gotten so bad that if it's too cold so that everyone has to be inside, I just stay home. I've been bumped into and now I have about a 4 foot bubble. If you cross it, I might tell you, or my horses might with their ears. I don't like being mean but gosh some people these days.
About the tying up, team ropers can get away with tying anywhere and it's not a problem, but with barrel racers, it's different. |

Location: North Dakota | I had a young boy completely stop loping in front of me, by the time I noticed my mare crashed into him almost throwing his horse to the ground!! He went from lope to dead stop, even my horse didn't see until she was on top of him! His mom gave me dirty looks the rest of the show but hey he should not have slammed on the breaks in the fast lane!! |

Lol some people do that in their cars so they can file a lawsuit and not have to work. Maybe the mom was just trying to get the kids college paid for. Lol |

| The last race I went too the warm up area was behind the arena and also where the alley was so you had to be mindful of horses going in and running out- someone was letting their 6/7 year old girl run around on foot in the middle of all this. I very nicely told her she needed to go play in a safer spot. |

I am gonna do this to anyone tailgating me as they are A.) dumb to be on the rear of an F350 dually in a Honda Civic, so...natural selection as I see it and B.) my truck is old and we can't afford a new one at $73k so I'll let this guy tailgating me buy one for me. LOL
As for arena rudeness, I grew up riding hunters and jumpers so to me learning how to ride in warm up at a barrel race was like a redneck free for all, but I think I have the hang of it now. Mostly. And I ride 2 mares so they keep anyone who comes too close at bay.
My biggest pet peeve is people parking their rigs too close to yours and then complaining because your horse is trying to kick theirs. Umm...yeah, that's why I got here early and am parked over here in the corner. And I *know* your trailer has other tie rings so why don't you move your horse since I was here first and parked in the corner for a reason. Oh, and then they have the nerve to get mad at ME when I tell them this after they come up and say "excuse me....your horse is trying to kick!!" |

I will go in make a few laps around and then get out of the madness - and ride elsewhere if at all possible. |

Location: North Dakota | Haha-if you don't like something change it! We have one producer around here that puts on a winter series-I'm always greatful for someplace to go but there's always a few complaining whiners no matter what you do! With the arena set up for this series you have to ride or walk your horse down the steer alley to the in gate (no there aren't steers in there) there is only 5 horses allowed at a time but it is tight quarters-my horse does fine but my daughters not so good-so I ALWAYS escort her on foot until it's her turn to go. I don't know how many of those girls horses I would lead/push/pull or run from in that alley. The producer noticed my extra effort and made a comment that if many of you parents would be as responsible as (me) this show would sure go a whole lot faster. I'm never ceased to be amazed at all the happy parents walking around and totally expecting their "kids" (anyone under 25 is a kid to me) to handle themselves and their horses in hairy situations.
Those of you that don't like horses tied to the gate that is flicking their tail and being snotty at everyone-my solution is usually somewhere along these lines-as I walk by if the horse flicks its tail at me it will get a whack with my halter rope and a good moving-push/nudge in the belly. If it happens again because the owner hasn't moved their ugly horse, I will simply take them and tie them up somewhere else. Usually gets the point across.
"I wonder why I don't have many friends at these races?"
