Has anyone tried to ship a bull/cow skull? I need to sell one but don't know how to pack & ship it safely. Also, does anyone know where I can buy plain skulls that would be worth buying to paint & resale?

Butcher shop, they'll usually give them away for free! If you're looking for large horns you may try a taxidermy shop. Wrap in bubble wrap, then pack news paper around the skull in the box to keep it from moving. Label as fragile

I pick mine up out of the pasture, or have friends who work cattle look around for them. You need to triple wrap them in bubble wrap and packing peanuts in the box.

As far as painting....I picked two up, posted the plain bull skull on facebook...and had about 4 people message me asking about buying the finished product.

I used to have a business and I would ship them quite a bit. Just use a lot of bubble wrap. Its expensive to ship now because they dont go off weight now, but by measurements of the box used. It got too expensive for me to ship...and too hard to sell to people I needed to ship to because I would have to increase the size of the box so much to make sure that i had it wraped safely in every way possible about 10 layers or so of bubble wrap.

How did you secure the nose piece? Did you use any glue on the underside? Did you pack bubble wrap/ paper in the cavity?

You can reinforce with glue on the underside, I didnt ever put anything inside the cavity though. I just bubble wrapped the crap out of it so that there wouldnt be much movement even if the box was dropped.
