Location: Montana | I'm breeding my mare this spring, and I'm the type of person that wants to ensure success by making sure everything goes well and she has good nutrition. I have her on a mineral block, good grass/alfalfa hay, some pelleted feed (she's an easy keeper, so she doesn't need much) and pasture in the summer time, and she does great on that, about the best condition I have had her in. She's 15, so while she's not old-old, I knew if I waited much longer (as she is a maiden) to get her in foal, we would likely have a harder time at it. What is the best feed or supplement for the money for a pregnant mare? Thanks in advance!

Location: Piedmont, OK | I keep all of my broodmares on Animal Element Foundation Detox and the last trimester I put them on Immune Key (also by Animal Element). Detox is a great all over supplement and the Immune Key gives them an immune boost right before delivering. |

| The only thing I can think of that she doesn't seem to have is Pre something- an injection that helps lower abortion? IDK but it's in a brochure at Tractor Supply, it sounded neat. You might want to do a little homework to make sure though. |

Ok...I know they make Pneuma-bort, but you don't give that until I believe their 5th, 7th, and 9th months of pregnancy. Thanks! |
