Epiglottic entrapment? Respiratory infections

Has anyone had experience with this? I have been battling respiratory infections with my horse. Had him scoped & found that he has adhesions at the tip of the epiglottis. Basically the epiglottis is not working properly & allowing food to get in his lungs. He is scheduled for a dissection of the epiglottic entrapment at Oakridge with Dr. Hague on the 15th. Just wondering what to expect & hoped to hear some success stories!

I had a colt that was displacing his soft palate due to inflammatory airway disease. He was starting to get an ulceration on his soft palate
(pre stages of forming an entrapment
). I had the lewellens procedure done where they trim or cut an area of tissue so the horse can get the palate back where it needs to be. My vet said, if he ever has any future issues and develops thickening of the tissue which causes an entrapment, using a laser to trim it back will fix the Problem.

I wonder if Sassy&Tessa gets on here anymore...I can't remember what Hops had done on his , I think it had something to do with his being paralyzed or something.
