How does Cruz qualify for natural born citizen if he was born in Canada? Wasn't that the entire birther argument? Not born on US soil? I'm so confused....
Oh gimmi a break!!! My father was in the USAF and stationed in Japan when I was born... So... I was Made in Japan... (but I'm a product of American labor)

Weren't both his parents citizens? I think the previous birther argument was born to non-citizen father on foreign soil. |

It was also a robocall all across Iowa. I heard it on T.V. and there is no denying what this campaign's intentions were. I'm sorry, but you can't put lipstick on a pig and still call it okay. This was wrong. And I genuinelly like much of what Cruz says. He was my choice for a long time. Not any more. Palin was the poster child for Lipstick on a pig and you were all in on that.
oink
So are you accusing her of supporting Obama and Hillary? Those are the only two pigs I see people trying to put lipstick on I'm not accusing anyone of anything.
I was just pointing out a bit of irony.
I have no dog in this fight, I not eligible to vote anyway.
For not having a dog in this fight you sure want to push the Socialism agenda, the same way that people don't work loves the idea of taking other people's hard earned money.
Why aren't you eligible to vote? |

Go read the Naturalization Act of 1790 it is the only time in our history that Congress defined what a natural born citizen is. As per that Act he is a natural born citizen. The only gray area is the fact the Supreme Court has never ruled on this. The term " natural born" comes from English law which so much of our Constitution does. It means born to the King or born as a citizen of the King. In the Act of 1790 it uses the term Natural born to refer to a citizen of the Untied States not born in the USA but born too a citizen of the USA as natural born. Since the Supreme Court has not chosen to take this up since 1790 I don't think they will now. Of course Mr. Trump can put his money where his mouth is and sue on this but frankly I think it is a waste of time.

His father was a Cuban immigrant. Doesn't matter as long as one parent is a US citizen, you can be born anywhere in the world and you are still considered 'natural born' based on what Jbhoot posted. |

| RidenFly - 2016-02-04 8:33 AM I saw the email and in my opinion, he bended the truth to fit his agenda and I've lost all my respect for the man. I'd never thought I'd say this, because in the last election cycle I was all "Dump Trump" but now I say I hope Trump wipes the floor with these politicians. Ben Carson should do something about it.
And the flash in the pan that has been flashing since08 has not hurt Trump's numbers one bit.
The past tense of bend is bent...
Continually bashing non establishment people on the GOP ticket will just lead to another democrat in the whitehouse. I will support whomever receives the nomination. Carson was my early pick, now I will probably vote for Cruz. |

The socialists love their Bernie who has done nothing in all the years he has been in Congress but can't wait to take the money of people that actually work and then we have Hillary that should be in jail. |

Location: Bastrop, Texas | The whole thing is a tempest in a teapot, really. Yes, it was a tacky move by the Cruz camp, but I seriously doubt it made much difference. Nobody with a functioning brain is going to switch their vote because of a tweet that doesn't make sense to begin with, a couple hours before the voting begins without confirming the validity of the rumor. Cruz wound up with egg on his face, and his polling numbers probably took a hit for it, at least in NH.
There will be lots of drama and crises like this, before the dust settles in the primaries. Ugly squabbles within the parties, during the primary season is nothing new. George HW Bush and Reagan were at each other's throats worse than this during the 1980 primaries. Reagan won the nomination and guess who he picked as his running mate......Bush.
Relax. |
