Location: Alabama | I read once on here that there was a "knock off" of the pp cj. Of course I don't remember the name of it. Hopefully someone has a better memory than me! |

Location: Probably On the Road to the Next Barrel Race! | Just wanted to remind you that my vet said there remains NO scientific evidence that ANY oral joint supplement works. The anecdotal evidence remains (ie, oh my horse does SO good on xxx oral joint supplement!). Injectables last 96 hours max in their system, so load up before the race weekend, BUT...you MAY be wasting your money on ANY oral supplement. |

Location: Southern Indiana | If your looking for a joint supplement than I highly recommend acti-flex. It's only $80-100 (depending on where you buy it) for 160 day supply and has high amounts of HA, glucosamine, chondroitin, msm,& vitamin c. |

Location: North Dakota | I liked PP CJ when I had my horses on it but I switched to T.H.E. Muscle Mass (custom blend with joint support) and I swear my horses looked even better than they did when on the PP CJ. And it is a little bit cheaper. And the scooper is not as large. They also seem to like the flavor better.
Red also gets Adequan and Shotgun gets Pentosan. I feel as a joint supplement, these are more bang for your buck.
But I still feed the feed-through anyway, because I like that they are getting other vitamins and minerals. The joint support might be helping a teeny bit .... but probably not. |

There is actually research studies published in scholarly journals that have shown horses who are given oral supplements at an early age for prevention have less arthritic changes later on as opposed to horses who have not been given a joint supplement.
The conclusion is the supplements do more in preventing inflammation therefore preventing arthritis later on.
Sorry I can tell you where The journal article is as it has been 6 months since I read it |

| At one point Smart Pak had a cheaper version of PP (not CJ, just PP). I had one mare on it and she looked just as great as my other mare that was on PP. But after awhile, it was suddenly pulled from smartpak. They even stated in the description that it was just like PP, which MAY of been the reason for being pulled from the shelf. Too bad as it was almost have the cost. |

Location: Ava, Missouri | Exceed 6-Way by MVP! Average cost per serving is just $2.85. An "all-in-one" supplement, it supports six key areas - joints, gastrointestinal, muscle, hoof, digestion, and skin/coat. It has significantly more active ingredients in it than Platinum Performance CJ & Total Control. In a recent study done on 10 osteoarthritic horses, after a 120 day trial 4 out of the 10 horses went to a zero lameness score after 30 days. 90% showed an average decreased lameness score after thirty days. This trial further supports "seeing & feeling the difference", within a short period of time. Message me to learn more about an introductory offer if you're a first time user. (You can buy a 2 month supply for $182.50 & get a 1 month supply for free - a $93.90 value!) |

I have heard this also. I always start my colts on a joint supplement as soon as I start really putting a lot of miles on them. I like the PP CJ. |

Here is the information on the Smart Paks. I really like the company. I didn't need all the stuff in the Ultra so I use the Smart Gut and Smart Pak Essentials with Senior Joint still cheaper and I than do the Polyglycan. | I used to use PP CJ, but my horses didn't love to eat it so I felt like I was just wasting it. I switched to DAC Total Performance Plus, which is an overall supplement, with the added joint support just like CJ. I love it and my horses eat it right up! It is $1.29 per serving.
They also have a couple of other joint products if you have a horse that requires more maintenance, Optimum Flex Plus and Hy-Victory. I've found they help injections last longer, and a reduced need for them.
