I've heard the Crown C saddles do fit on the smaller side, and I'm assuming that's because of the designed shortened seat jockey. But as a whole do those who own a Crown C feel that they needed to go up in seat size to get the best fit from your Crown C?

I ride in the same size in my crown c as in my other saddles.

Some say when you get to a 9" gullet you need to go up a size, I haven't and have no complaints

I actually found they run big, I run in a 14" in everything but a 13" or 13.5" in a Crown C...I hated mine so that's another thing LOL but many think they run a 1/2" big

I thought they ran true to size.

True to size. But I heard if you go into those bigger gullets they feel different. But I have an 8.5 and ride in my normal size 14 seat

Mine runs true to size and I LOVE it.  I have a 13.5".  I also had a 13.5" Reinsman that rode great but was to wide for every horse we put it on, which is why I got the Martin.  In the past I always had 14" but needed 13.5" and was finally able to afford a better saddle with the 13.5.   Whenever I had to ride in my other, very old saddle, or my mom's saddles, I cringe and just want to sit in my Martin.

Does anyone by chance know the length of the "thigh" area on a 13" crown c?

The thigh area will be different between 2014 earlier and 2015. The seat was redesigned in 2015
