I think that would help a lot to keep the ground consistent for all barrel racers. They just need to throw in a few commercials like the TV time outs in a college and NFL football games.
I will say this - at the URA Finals here in Kansas, we tractor drag every 5 during the barrel race & after the 15th runner, and still, barrel racing is BY FAR the quickest event all night. All it requires is that the tractor man be ready, someone be at the gate to let him in, and as soon as the 5th girl crosses the time line, he is in the arena. I bet it wouldn't add 3-4 minutes to the rodeo if they did a quick drag after 5 & 10. Until you put a stopwatch to it, you have no idea how fast those drags can be done. |

I don't know what a URA is but it would add much more than a total of 3-4 minutes and when you are dealing wiht TV time, contractual time limits etc. you do not have that leeway
I seem to recall that they are contractually obligated to complete the rodeo in 2 hours or less and I would assume that is because the City of LV wants the folks who's butts are in those seats to be back in the casino's spending money.

1Dsoon - URA stands for United Rodeo Association
They are under a time limit to get the rodeo ran off

Location: In the Hills of Texas | They use to hand rake after each run and that sure was better then nothing. Don't have a clue why they stopped but it seems it was stopped the year the Barrel Racers were part of the PRCA. |

He's selling it bit by bit. It's been "blessed by the boots of countless champions" and some pretty important stuff, don't you know? Get yours while it's on sale!

I really thought it was a joke when I saw the ground for sale in a bottle. I find it really scary that people would actually buy it. |
