On average, how far do you travel to barrel races. There is a tiny fun type circuit (20 competitors) about 2 hours away and they have like 8 or 9 summer shows ( its little but the people who win here also win in the bigger shows too) and then there is a bigger circuit( 100-150 horses) about 3-5 hours from home on average...we also have some rodeos and nbha shows in the 3-5 hours range. How far do you guys travel on average?

I travel 1-2 hours on a regular basis (weekend shows)

I plan on going to Vegas in June for NBHA which is 4 hours away (probably 5-6 in a horse trailer) and MIGHT go to AZ to visit family and bring my horse with me to race with some old friends. Also 5 hours away probably 6-7 with a trailer.

Hour to hour 1/2 on weekends to local shows-usually 150 - 200 entries.   There is a weeknight jackpot series 20 minutes from me, it gets 30-40 entries.  Big shows-300 plus entries -hour 1/2 -2 1/2 hours

You will get a wide variety of answers to this. Someone live within 20-30 minutes of shows every day of the week and some live where they have to drive an hour or two to make it to a little playday. Where I lived in Wyoming (and like most of Wyoming) most have to drive at least an hour or 2 to get to anything worth while. We had a little playday every Wed. in town so that was good to at least get our every week in the summer.

?Now I live in Stephenville, TX where there are barrel races a plenty within 10- 30 minutes everyday of the week.

Weekend races: 3 - 4 hours
Day races: 2 hours is the max but it has to have great ground and added money to travel that far. Other then that I try to stay as close to home as possible!

Our usual NBHA shows are 45 minutes to 2 hours away. I wouldn't go farther than that unless it was big like a Super Show. Really, NBHA is one of the only associations around me. There is one other that is about an hour, but not much available further than that that's worth the travel.
