My horse has a tendency to hollow out sometime when we ride causing him to get sore over his loins. I've vet cheked him and have a saddle fitted properly to him, I also do drills to teach him not to hollow out. My question is....will a CSI pad or a Zone Pad help disperse that? I'm looking into one of those pads but I want to make sure they are worth the money.

No matter what pad you use, he has to learn how to carry himself. It doesn't happen over night, it takes a long time to build up their topline... I am in the same boat and its difficult for sure! We have "Topline Tuesdays" and "Topline Thursdays" lol where we lunge with side reins and a surcingle over poles and cavelettis to help with this. Lots of slow work

As with any heavy exercise program, be it human or animal, u gotta give the muscles recoop time, so heavy exercise breaks down muscle, then it's needs time to rest and rebuild, when horses are turned out they constantly do minor damage and tears but when we ask them for these specific maneuvers there has to be healing time

So I agree w another poster on top line Tues and Thurs....

Riding collected, broke at the poll, back rolled up into the saddle, hindend up under them, soft n the bridle, this is what u want......

It's hard, but u and ur horse will be so much better....

Horses need that hind end strength and muscle for the propulsion forward movement

Sandy Collier has a book out on Reining Essentials and how to have a better broke horse, great exercises and troubleshooting....

If ur horses have never rode "collected" a sort of short cut is the biting rig, do ur groundwork in the biting rig, it will teach\show horse how to break at poll and softeen to the bit, then when u start riding them in this collected fashion the transition should be much easier

Good luck, top line is very important
