i noticed when my horse started getting his winter hair, which is not much, he's always had a short coat but this year it's like the coat has been growing in in several directions, like big cow licks all over him? Has anyone had this happen to their horse and found out what's causing it? My farrier said it could be the beginnings of cushings. He's a 10 yo qh gelding. Thanks

I'd pull blood. Could be a number of things. Start of cushings, anemia....

One of my horses did that but I wasn't too worried about it. He was always healthy, just had kind of a weird winter coat pattern. Can you show us any pictures of it?
