Who all has had a scope done on their knee? Why did you have yours and how long where you down? I had mine done one week ago today. 2 months ago I had a dog or 2 that were playing and they ran up and hit me from behind. I knew before I even hit the ground something was wrong. Thank goodness I had my phone on me and my SO was only about 15-20 minutes away as I could not get up off the ground. About a week after the accident I was able to get my MRI. MRI showed a piece of cartilage was lodge so I couldn't unbend my knee all the way. Knew I was going to need some kind of surgery/scope so signed up for Obama Care so I had insurance as I had just received a new job and wasn't eligible for 60 days. To make a long story short after getting all the referrals from my Primary DR I finally had the scope done about 1 1/2 months after the incident. Once he got in there he saw it was worse than the MRI had shown. Broken kneecap, had to "make" a new pocket for the kneecap and also had a bunch of torn cartilage from the kneecap going out and coming back in. Haven't started PT yet as they have to get some kind of authorization from my primary dr but I am feeling pretty good. It is still swollen and I have to wear a brace when I am about and doing stuff. Surgeon said I could bend it as much as I am comfortable with but I so afraid to bend it at all. Is this normal or am I just being a wuss? I want to start PT as soon as I can so I get over this fear. |
