I order the go-round prizes for the United Rodeo Association Finals and have been depending on 4Imprint.com for customized small items the past few years. We have done printed coffee mugs
(they have other types of cups too
), embroidered throw blankets, and my mom ordered flashlights for a youth rodeo welcome gift last year. The price per item decreases as you order more and the throw blankets I've gotten were about $15 each for 45-50 of them but very nice quality. I think mom spent about $5 per flashlight.
KO Trading I think offers trophy brushes and picture frames, and I've also had local embroidery places jazz up basic travel/duffel bags that were purchased on Amazon.com. ChicksSaddlery.com is a great site for reasonably priced grooming items and I know I've ordered other stuff from them too.

For second place, a duffel bag is probably a good idea. Something useful. For third place buckets are never a bad idea for a budget
(although when it comes to prizes I have a tendency to get a little bit irritated by super cheap ones, especially if the show is expensive
). And if you're being sponsored by a feed company, maybe a sample bag of one of their feeds. I show American Stock Horse Association and at the last show I went to the 3rd place prize was a flat-back bucket and 20 pounds of Purina's amino acid supplement, since Purina was a show sponsor.
