So funny story.....back when I was 18, I found a big black rat snake sun bathing. I dumped out my big red tote bag and stuck him in it. I was going to stick him in a friends bedroom as a prank......well, stupid me left the bag in my car for an hour, went back to get the snake and he had slithered out of my tote bag into my car. I literally was so afraid to drive my car, i would drive with cruise control on and my feet up on my seat LOL. I still never found him.
I would have SOLD.THE.CAR. instantly - THAT.DAY!  |

I'll be the odd one out! YAY for hubby! (sorry, I HATE snakes and YES, I would rather have rats and mice - but I don't because I have cats who kill the snakes too - good kitties )! Maybe I need therapy for my snake phobia 
I'm with you! I hate seeing them and if I do they are dead when I'm thru. Poisoness or not if it has opportunity to scare me it's dead. I used to kill between 8-12 a year close to my house and barn until my husband picked up a stray cat on the road. She is a hunting killing machine! We keep food out for her all the time but she is constantly on the prowl. I have seen 1 snake in the last two years. No mice in my barn either. Love her! |

I kill every snake I see. They feast on my toad population and those little guys feast on flies, spiders, roaches, junebugs, grasshoppers, you name it.

That is hilarious! I would seriously be freaked out to drive the car, too.
Many years ago my brother had a rat snake in the house and of course it got loose and we all went looking and didn't find the thing until a few days later I walked into my parents' bathroom and it was slithering up the shutters!   I shut the door and ran to get my dad and he got it and set it free outside. My stupid brother had no business having a snake in captivity. He was a teen that could barely take care of himself.... |

Location: Arkansas | When my kid's were in high school, we lived in an area that had a lot of rocks and COPPER HEAD SNAKES!! To me, the only good snake is a dead snake! My youngest son told me that the way you could tell if a snake was poisoness was to look at the shape of their scales! Like I was going to get close enough to a snake to take note of the shape of their scales!!! I might take a closer look....after I've used a shovel on it and made sure there was no wiggle left in it! |
