My horse is off the track. He has, at some point, bowed his tendon. He has been pin fired, but VERY lightly, leading my vet and I to think it was a very mild bow.
I've had this horse for 2.5 years, bought him right off the track, he is now 8. So the injury happened some time ago. There is no heat or swelling, even when he is having an off day.
He isn't 100%. But he's pretty dang good. I'm wondering what, if anything, will help with this old bow. Like I said, he has off days due to this.
Tight joints plus? Runners relief? And would I poultice and wrap the RR? Or is that of absolutely no value at this stage in the game? I currently use Hawthorne poultice when hauling, after a race, etc. with no wraps, and I use the Ionic therapy boots with great success.

Location: Piedmont, OK | Although cytowave is kinda pricey but if he's not a100% you might lookminto renting one.
But for every day kind of things to help would be Runners relief or Ice Vibe or even DMSO and furazone sweats. Or if you have access to a salt water spa they are amazing for tightening legs.

Location: Piedmont, OK | If you are going to the BBR Andrea will be there with the salt water spa and I highly recommend it! My horse swerve wants Andrea to be her mommy. Lol

There is probably scar tissue. I would sweat the leg with DMSO,Dex,Furacin the day before you run. Poultice the leg after you run. Depending on how much you want to spend, I would put him on Equine Regen and Vitalize High Performance. PHT magnets will help also.
