The Question is not how your state voted in the primary. It should be how many blue or purple states will Trump flip to red in the general. Will he even carry the same number of states as Romney ?

head to head numbers are accurate NJJ but primary numbers are R=25.1mil to D=21.7mil.   That is the number that I am really excited about.
and if you break out the 12.4 to 10.6 and just take the left over votes that have to decide.... Well that makes this alot closer than anyone is giving credit for.

You also have to consider all of the votes cast for other candidates.....they will have to choose to go with their "party" candidate or jump ship....or not vote..........Democrats are more likely to stay with the party and I foresee, the Republicans doing exactly what they did in the last election.....didn't want Romney so they stayed home and didn't vote.......

maybe but i forsee it really different.  Bernie garned 9.3 and im betting that most who didnt vote for hillary wont in the general either.  There are also 14.6mil republican votes up for grabs.  I dont think they are going to stay home either.... I dont see the american push to get her in the oval.  Obama had momentem 8 years ago..... i dont see that behind hillary.  I see trump with all the momentem and i see a very heavy onslaught of ever dirty little hilliary secret comming.  America will be ready to incarsirate her vs put her in the white house when its all done.

The sad fact is that popular vote count means vary little in the general it's all about elector voters. Hillary heads into this with 242 she only needs 28 to reach 270. Donald heads into this with 186 IF he carry's the states that Romney carried. So can he run the board in all the battle ground states and pickup the 86 to reach the 270? I think his chances are slim to none IMO. I think the Republicans just nominated the one person that will motivate the Democrat's to come out and vote even thou they hate Hillary they hate him more. If you think I am wrong on this jump over to any of the lefts web sites and read the comments.

Gore won the popular vote but W was handed the victory by the supreme court. With the deciding votes coming from his daddy's appointees.

But this election is already in the democrat column. There's only 3 people left running if you can count Sanders? All 3 are democrats. Hillary is probably the least democrat of the 3.

Jbhoot, I believe you'll see a lot more dems voting for Trump than you think.  1/2 the Dems don't want Clinton in the white house, therefore the popularity of Sanders.  Romney wasn't a very strong candidate.  Trump himself is the wildcard.  He'll get the northeast states and if you add in Florida he'll have the number of electorial delegates he needs.

One caveat, the GOP party must unite behind him.    I think you'll see that movement in June.   A party united stands, a party divided falls....

I have not spoken to 1 Democrat that would vote for Trump.
