| I know it's early, but I want to really plan ahead. I'm casually looking for an Internship Opportunity for the summer of 2017. I am an experienced rider, and compete at the amateur rodeo level, I have patterned a few horses, and finished some green broke horses. I am interested in finding either a barrel horse futurity trainer, reining/cutting trainer, but I'm open to anything that can help me extend my knowledge. I want to be able to bring 1-2 of my own horses with me, and find somewhere that offers room and board for myself! Let me know if you or anyone you know of has this kind of opportunity! Thanks! |

Location: Somewhere around here | I suggest Jud Little's place. It's more of a vet-like internship but it would be a GREAT learning experience plus you might pick up some barrel tips from some high quality trainers there. |

Location: Kansas | You might try to post it on a few facebook barrel racing groups, just to get the word out there. Good luck! |

Location: Deep South | I regularly see cutting farms posting open positions, there's actually a page dedicated to it on FB called "LOPERS- What's so hard about that?"
Also see Megan Marsh and Pete Oen advertise for open positions a couple times a year.
Plenty of other people need help throughout the year too who don't advertise like the ones I mentioned above, you can just ask any trainer/farm you think you'd like to work for, chances are they need help.

Agree, I worked for some cutting barns, & loved it !!! learned new things and actually developed a better seat in my saddle. |
