| I've had this mcnab dog since january and she is still showing her ribs. she doesn't eat much. She is always moving! So she burns off everything. All the dogs are on sportmix ( or diamond naturals if I can't get the other). Should I worry about her needing to gain some weight?
I have used camelina oil in the past on a dog for allergies and he gained alot! So I will try that, but wondering what anyone else may suggest. She is a picky eater. She is healthy every other way! |

| If you can feed her separately and if she would like it, maybe mix some wet dog food in with the dry dog food. If she's healthy otherwise and she just seems to be working all of her food off I'd say she's fine! |

Location: Sherman, TX | I have a Dutch Shepherd who is super active and ball obsessed so would rather play than eat. I just make sure she gets a high fat dog food since she won't pay attention to much dog food and I put coconut oil or Cocosoya oil on her feed to keep the weight . She will never be fat but at least it helps, I started using Cocosoya oil because she climbs in the horse feed troughs and eats it off their grain. Coconut oil is super cheap at Sam's Club too and can be melted and drizzled over their food. |

Location: Somewhere around here | I have a miniature Dachshund like this, always skinny and runs everywhere. He is a picky eater and we tried doing different types of dog food, wet food, human food, anything! It seems like the only thing that actually helped was getting him fixed. He gained about 1.5 lbs (not much but he is little) and his ribs don't stick out near as much and not it's just a couple of his spine bumps that we notice. |

| We feed raw egg on top of dry food (mixed with a spoon) to the hard keeping Border Collies.
Shines the coat up, they EAT like none other, and will lick the bowls clean. The extra protein helps too. |

Location: Canada | I used to feed Satin Balls to my last pair of Great Danes. They were 10 years old and still acted like puppies so keeping weight on them at that age was hard. I started making and feeding Satin balls and it made a big difference to their weight. They were on premium dog food as well, but the Satin Balls helped add those much needed pounds.

Also, try feeding more than one meal a day. |

| She eats twice a day. I have no time to make her anything. I can do the oil on top or raw egg. But I don't have time to "cook" for my dogs. |

| I put my dogs on self serve and the skinny one it took a few months to pick up (had him given to us skinny). My glutten actually quit eating as much, and a bag of dog food is lasting longer then when I was feeding it.
I know people say songs only need to eat once a day, but I see mine going in grabbing a bite and returning a few hours later for another snack. |

The satin balls you can either divide up and use as meals or roll them into balls and feed them as treats. I roll them into balls and fed them as treats. It takes about 10 minutes to make a batch and will quickly add weight to a dog.
