Location: midwest mama | I have a Saddleright pad and love it. Unfortunately my horse does not like the felt right up against his back so I need to use a liner. I have been using a Navajo underneath, and it seems to wrinkle up so I would like to try something else.
Does anyone have any suggestions? |

| I use the BOT saddle pad for the liner under my saddleright. It's very thin and so far is not causing excessive heat or sweating. It's been in the high 80's with very high humidity down here. |

Location: 100 miles from Nowhere, AR | A high quality wool Navajo won't wrinkle. I also use a contoured liner from reinsman--that one is 3/8" thick--but you're back to having felt on the horse. |

| I've always used the little felt liners that you can buy directly from SaddleRight and I've always liked them. But since your horse doesn't like the felt on the bottom of the SaddleRight, it probably wouldn't like the felt liners from them since they're the same kind of felt as the bottom of the pad itself. But like everyone else above, I find that my BOT pad liner also works great with my SaddleRight pads. My horse is a big sweater and he doesn't sweat any more or less with the BOT liner. Plus, they have a great contour to them and fit nicely under a SaddleRight! |

I talked to a rep, who lives not to far away from me,about this because I live in South Texas. She said if you are just riding for an hour or two, there should be no problems. But one day she did use it in the summer working the cattle pens at a sale for over 8 hours, and she said her horse's back was sore. She said she has never done that again, but has used it during rope practice in the summer in the hottest part of the day for only a couple hours with no problems. So I will try it and keep a very close eye on how he feels. So far in 90 degree heat and 70% humidity, he has done fine. No extra sweating and absolutely no sore back. |

Yes, he did. It was due to a too wide saddle. I found a saddle to fit and while I was waiting on it to arrive, I rode in the BOT under a thick pad, but just down the rode kind of riding until I got my saddle. I still use it because I think he likes it. Plus I know he doesn't like felt pads and I use the Saddleright on him. |

Good to know! Thank you! I recently got a Bob Marshall for my very hard to fit horse and hes a little back sore right now. I believe it is my saddle pad...(ive been waiting for my SaddleRight now for over 12 weeks) and the pad im using is also a saddleright but its way too small. Im hoping that fixes the issue! But I really want a liner to keep it nice as well. |

I only have good things to say about it and it also helps keep your saddle in place for those mutton withered horses. It even stays in place when your pulling just the saddle off the horse after a ride, the liner and saddleright pad stay on still. They are also so easy to clean, just rinse off or use a mild detergent and gently scrub (for those dirty pasture horses). It is a bit pricey, but we love ours! |
