teamthompson - 2016-05-27 9:22 AM Yes, i believe this mare of mine is super smart
always 2 steps ahead of me.
... Its hard to give up on one, and its only a short amount of time and weather hasnt been on our side.... Granted i do think if i could afford to sens her off to a "cowboy" to be ranches on for about 2/3 months she would appreciate my house alot more lol...... We have had our ups and downs but seems like she knows i am not gonna put up with her crap, and i make sure to make her respect my space unless i invite her in.... Well if anybody wants her let me know ;
) Will post a picture of her.....
That's because she has two more feet than you do..
Here are the pics in jpg format..
I had to laugh at your comment of 2 more feet that Komet made..
My diagnosis is simple ... you have a barn brat that you made by spoiling her and never taking her on long 4-8 hour trail rides to make her learn to save her energy for walking along peacefully. She doesn't know what a days work is ...
Find some trails at state parks and go ride with a group that is there or take your family and after 4 hours out on the trail .. put best rider of family on her to ride .. 6 hours next family member .......... this is after she has sulled up and laid down on you and you poured water in her ears with a water bottle to make her get up ... lol ..
At home .. saddle her up and ride for an hour ... tie her up with saddle for the entire day .. and every time someone walks by her ... get on her and ride her 10 ft or to the house and tie her in a different location ... and to keep her guessing .. ride her down the road or in the pasture for a minimum of 30 minutes and come back and tie her in a different spot ... keep in mind if you don't get more aggressive with her this can make her barn sour and add to your problems .... keep your arena and round pen work to a minimum ... this filly needs to be rode with focus and teach her to be a horse instead of a pest ... lol
While you are working on this filly ... saddle other horses for family members to do the same thing with their horses ... it will improve their riding skills quicker than you think ... and everyone benefits ..
GOOD LUCK ...
