I just bought a 5 Star pad and was given one of their cinches to try. I've never been a fan of the rope type cinches but I know a lot of people ride them. Its suppose to stop my saddle from rolling. $199 is a lot for a cinch for me. I've used the ones made by Cactus for a long time and have always liked them. |

| i could see a calf horse or a cutter needing this but running barrels, are you really going to need to cinch your back cinch down that tight? |

Mine is tight also but I just have a piece of leather to hold it forward. And its not tight like calf roper tight so I dont see the need for something like that. . . but thats just my opinion. |

Think about the weight of the calf pulling on the horn.... in any roping event it's critial to have a tight back cinch to protect your horse. |

Helps hold the saddle stable while they take the jerk.
Our preference is to use a second latigo on our rear cinches so we can get them tighter, especially on our heel horses. Sore up a horse really quick roping with a loose cinch. |

Me, too. I was looking for one and couldn't find it, when I found the never tight that I ride that one horse in. So, when I saw this one, I bought it. I just haven't had a chance to use it.
I only have time for one horse right now, and he rides fine in a regular cinch. I also ride him with a tight-ish back girth. I notice it doing its job the most when he is really running at a closed gate and has to stop really hard. Definitely feel the saddle move then with a loose or no back girth. |

Location: MD | I have one by 5 star. I dont use it as much as I did when I first got it. It sits really forward which is a good thing but I notice it touches my calf I would think if you wore spurs it could get hung. I mainly stopped using it because I dont like the metal piece digging in the horses girth area. Thats with any mohair type girth though. I have a classic equine feather flex girth that I like a lot better. My saddle always felt loose with the mohair too. I felt like I had to split my horse in two so it wouldn't slip in a run. |

| I've been using one for a few months now. I really like it on the horse I got it for. He runs downhill, so the back cinch is important for me to keep pressure off the front. He always licks his lips when I tighten up the back buckle....prob doing its job. Very happy with mine. I did buy the one that is wider in front, roper style. Got the original at first and sent it back ~ my opinion was it was way too narrow |

I have one like this, it is nylon & fleece. I love it & would love to find another one, but I'm not paying $200 for one. I know I didn't spend over $50 on the one I have, but have only been able to find them used!!!

This seems to be a take-off of the nylon and fleece "Y" girths that were popular in years gone by. I still have one on one of my saddles and I love it. Does an excellent job of keeping the saddle pulled down and the back cinch is pulled out of the way of your feet. I have thought about having my saddle shop make a split back cinch of leather that would snap into my regular girth. |
