i need another pair of stirrups but I'm wondering about getting a 4" pair. I've always rode in 3" but I almost feel like they are not enough sometimes on those long ride gathering cows etc. I'm afraid I might not like them after I buy them lol. Anyone have some advice ?

I'm not sure why you need so much stirrup??
We had some that were probably 4 inch that were safety stirrups for our Girl Scout troop girls who'd never met a horse before. I personally hated them! Felt like a board strapped to my feet.
In the comfort department, the most comfortable set of stirrups I own are 2 inch slanted stirrups.

What brand 2" slanted do you use? Maybe I'll give that a try instead. I'm using nettles halfbreed right now and my ankles hurt sometimes.

I ride in the 3" slanted stirrups and they're wonderful. I ride with my feet really deep in the stirrups, so 2" ones always just killed my feet after a long day. I run in mine, and never lose my stirrups. Mine are the original solid aluminium smooth ones, so I just wrapped some vet wrap around the bottoms for some traction/cushion and they're great.
eta: I think mine are the actual Crooked brand.

I'm just in cheap Tough 1 Slanted. I know several who like the 3 inch slanted as well.
Walls is another good brand.
