TXBO - 2016-06-07 4:33 PM Meanwhile...... Record numbers are turning out to see the "Joe Shmoe's" compete in rodeo.......

"SAN ANTONIO - A record 2,034,497 estimated people attended the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo this year, a 17 percent increase from the previous record."

Imagine that
It shocked me.  I really thought the PRCA rodeos were doomed without the celebs.

Remember when Suzanne Sommers thought Three's Company couldn't prosper without her so held the producers up for a monstrous raise.   They called her bluff. She lost her career and the show continued to succeed without her.   Ho Hum

She bounced back with the Thighmaster!! LOL

San Antonio really isn't any different than most rodeos.  My point all along has been that very few rodeo attendees are there for the stars of the sport.  They go for many other reasons.... concerts, festivals, community events...... most of them couldn't name two contestants.

tebar - 2016-06-05 11:52 AM All I can say is. it is so nice to see a rodeo that you get a fair shake at. If you feel you've been given the wrong call, instant re-play makes the call if you challenge. I love Ashley and I think she is a beath of fresh air that the barrel racing industry as a whole needs. I can see why some object to the Elite wording and the announcer is not my favorite. With that being said I like to watch good rodeo's & I think the competition and the competitors are great. You do know the PRCA has not out lawed all these contestants they can work both,so as far as jumping ship, that is an un-true statement. I give them all a big hand for trying something new and getting more air time for Rodeo. You either Love this sport or you don't. I love the sport of rodeo.  I hope it works out for the best to all involved.

you should host a watch party at your house.

That way everyone in the country that cares about the ERA could sit in your living room and cheer.

So nasty you are but great idea, I'll see if Shada wants to host the party, she has a bigger house than I do.

 I bet she wouldn't

She has never struck me as someone that wanted a half dozen strangers in her house.
