I started my lame mare on tight joints about a month ago and not only is it not helping at all. She has got significantly worse. She is in a lot of pain and can barely walk.
Back story.
She pulled all her tendons in her previously injured back leg. The DFT and sheeth muscles surrounding her bones and everything. (I can't remember exactly all the ones she stretched or partially tore) I didn't own her when she injured it the first time but she always had a bump back there and a slight limp but was rideable and it was manageable.
I rescued her as her old owner stopped caring and coming out to feed her and so on.
Any who I was really hoping for some improvement with tight joints and haven't got any. I was hoping for some insight. If I should give it some more time or stop or add something?
I am not riding or working her at all right now. And haven't for quite some time. It's been a year and a half since her last injury and she hasn't been this bad since it happened.
Thank you.

Poor girl.  Does she need to be seen by a vet?  Is there something else going on perhaps?  I’m pretty sure that the TJP has not made it worse as all the ingredients should work together to help reduce inflammation so that healing can start.  You could double up the dose, but maybe have a vet out to see if there’s something more that she’s dealing with.  Good luck and I hope she feels better!

It sounds like your horse needs medical intervention. X-rays and ultrasound.

Then a treatment plan determined by the vet.

If you cannot afford it, it may be time to euthanize her put her out of her pain.

she has been seen by a vet multiple times he was really satisfied with her prrogress last time but said i should think about injections.. which i wanted to wait on as long as i could which is why i loved the idea of tight joints.. her leg just gets worse and better with time she was almost not limping at all ...her feet got a little over due since my last farrier went mia. But they got done and she was getting a little better.. and everything I had her on previcox previously but she was so hyper on such a low dose I was afraid she was going to hurt herself...

She is on the double dose since I started her on it.

Here's my experience. Had the vet out for lameness exam and was concerned how my horse was standing with this knee slightly bent but was sound. We injected back end stuff and put him on Previcox to help the slight knee swelling. Well, a month later my horse is 3 legged lame. I have the vet out again to inject the knee and then he was sound. What I'm getting at, is you have to inject first to really remove the inflammation. Then you can control it with the joint supplement. Since then, my horse has fared well on a scoop of MSM.
