Has anyone become certified through Equissage? Or have you had someone work on your horses that has? I am interested in the program and would like to gain any information I can so that I can decide if I want to do it or not.
Also, would you as a horse owner be interested in having someone massage your horses? Is it a fairly effective modality/therapy?

I went to VA and the Equissage program several years ago. It was a pretty good class and I learned a lot. If you are thinking of doing it for your personal knowledge and horses it's great. For a career it's tough I think. Not too many people will pay for massage now that there are so many other tools on the market. I had a bioscan at the time and offered bioscan treatments with a massage and that was fairly popular.

I did this several years ago. Mainly just for my own horses. It really works. I see the difference in all the horses I do. I won't get rich doing it but it is a good thing to know and the Equissage program is probably the best. You could make some money if you really pushed hard. I just didn't because I have a full time job but I do some at horse shows and locally. It is enough for entry fees and some extra.

Not trying to steal your thread, but curious if anyone has done just the online portion or if you went to VA to the classes in person through Equissage. I have looked into this place also but with my current work schedule and time I am not able to make it out a week for the course. I am curious if you learn as much and can learn it well through the online courses? It is such a hands on type of job I fear i wouldn't benefit as much. I would love to become certified in equine massage regardless, mostly for my own horses benefit.

No worries! I was curious about the home study plan too actually too because I can't really leave that long.

I did Equissage Texas. If you can follow the English crowd, they will massage. Barrel racers like products. I tried hard to make it, but couldn't. It's a shame because the results are instantaneous and awesome. Get the muscles healthy and you don't need chiro anymore.
