So, after the cows have gotten out about 1,204 times, my husband would like to put in a perimeter of no-climb fencing. We currently have 4 strands of electric rope, but apparently it isn't conducting through horns? It just isn't reliable enough; we live in a rural residential area, and our neighbors don't love our cows visiting theirs. Not that my cowpony minds the random round-ups
So anyway, we are looking at doing just the front half of our pasture for now in a no-climb, with an electric wire on the inside, I assume.
So my questions:
Does anyone have any tips for easy installation (I did dredge up the recent conversation about stretching the fence and sent it to my husband)?
And where is the cheapest to buy this stuff?
Does anyone else have no-climb? How does it look/hold up? (pictures?)
Thank you!!

We had it at our farm in Ohio. Loved it. We hired some one to put it up yes to lots of stretching similar to regular wire type fencing.

My husband I fenced in 3 1/2 sides of no climb fence on a little over 5 acres by ourselves. We did have to have the Co-Op come out and dig fence poles along the front since it was on rock. We've been here 20 years and it still looks good. We actually fenced it in, in the early 90's. We built the house in 93 and moved in in 96.

We bought a comealong and he made something to put through the fence to stretch it. I'll have to ask him tomorrw. We also had a fence post driver to drive the t-post's in.

Here are some installation videos on this website. Tractor Supply sells this brand, it's the least expensive store that I've found.

That is all we have.  My husband made a stretcher.  He put two oak 2x4 together and drilled bolt holes in them.  You put the wire wrapped around one board.  Then bolt them back together.  Then he hooks a chain He hooks a chain wrapped around the ends, making a V and the come along to that chain.  Hooks it to the bucket on the tractor.

We put up all of ours.

If you watch the Red Brand video it gives you an idea.

have you looked into field fencing instead? No climb is very pricey and seems a bit much for cattle. We put it up all the way around our 12 acres but we have horses (didn't want something a hoof could get thru)and I was tired of my dogs getting into tangles with coyotes. Nothing comes on our property now. But if we just had cattle I wouldn't spend all that money for no climb. JMO. Either way you'll have to stretch it and put it up the same but it wouldn't cost you as much.

Thanks everyone!! I do appreciate the input!
Jewishprincess, I would love cheaper, but we have horses and cows we're fencing, the horses just don't get out. I bought cheaper fencing once and it didn't work well, I'm at the point where I'd rather do it once right. I will check out field fencing though, thanks!
