I will be making my trip to youth worlds in georgia. I heard that the heat is tremendous down there. Any tips for making sure my horse is feeling his best?

A fan for his stall. I've heard several stories of box fans catching fire lately, so I would get one of the wire fans.
Electrolytes after each run. OE and Oxygen both make a good one.
Keep a close eye on his water intake. Know how much water he usually drinks at home, so you know if he's drinking less at the show.

I would take a couple fans. And a horse Hydrator, many horses do not like the taste of the water there. Also the stalls are concrete floors so have a plan for that. I have heard that mixing rubbing alcohol with water and using as a spray helps keep horses cool. As for the barns the big ones are pretty well ventilated, they have the Big Ass Fans in them. But I would still bring your own fans as well.

Agree.
Wire fan, plan for concrete floors, bring water from home.

Watch how much water he drinks. If he's not drinking enough try adding powdered Gatorade to his water. Or you can soak alfalfa cubes. I make sure mine have 2 full buckets of water at all times. Make sure he has a fan. I use the regular box fans and have since my first year at youth world in 2007 with no problems but to each his own.

One good thing they have plenty of room for you to take them out and walk them or ride and lots of turn out pens which helps break up the standing in stalls and the heat........hopefully this year it will not be as bad.....but it can be very bad.........
