My place has buried iron and by an old smelter. I am gonna test my soil just gonna take a few days. Anyone know how to tell if minerals are imbalanced in horses?

Poor coats, poor hoof quality... If they have excess iron then it will disrupt their iron:copper:zinc:mg ratio and you may have to supplement.
That's something a blood panel can tell you. I'd just have some blood work done and see if there is an imbalance. Tell your vet your concerns.

A chemistry panel run will tell you a mineral imbalance

I had a horse hair analysis done. I'm so glad I did it. My mare had uncontrolled skin irritations, sore feet, problems with ulcer flare ups all the time. She looks much better.

I can't tell you about a mineral imbalance, but I can say that if you live in the Henryetta area, where I lived for years within 1-1/2 miles of the old smelter - my horses were always fine and grazed there with no problems, no mineral imbalances. I know some people in that area, though, claim that the land is less than safe to graze livestock on, so to be safe if I were you, I would check with a vet.
