I know these bits are pretty popular with the reiners and western pleasure riders. Curious if anyone uses them for barrels?
What can you tell me about these bits if you use them for barrels? Do you run in them or do you just ride at the house with them?
Curious this afternoon I suppose.

Wouldn't recommend. If you really want some lift I would go for a Pozzi.

I use a shorty DM lifter on a few who like to lay to one side, or the other when riding during the week to keep the wither elevated and shoulders square. I wouldn't necessarily recommend running in one though.

We used these on our more forward western pleasure horses. I would not recommend it for barrels. No flex at all, it is meant to direct that forward movement upwards for a more 'hitched' western pleasure look. It also is way too much bit to use two handed like barrel racers are meant to ride.

Thank you for your input. I'm not looking for a bit with lift. I have a bit that works for my two. But I couldn't help but be curious when google turned this interesting bit up. Nice to know what exactly it is used for. Thanks guys
