A customer that had a horse in training with us several years ago had some personal issues so she sent us the registration papers giving ownership of said horse. We still have the horse and for breeding reasons need to have a transfer completed. The previous owner is in Canada. I know her name and city, thats it. Have had no luck on FB.

If you are from the Cambridge Ontario, CA area PM me please.

I think AQHA will give you a mailing address. I know they won't give a phone number but an address would be a start.

What IF I cannot find the former owner to sign a transfer...? She has been in our possession since 2009...

Ive had it go both ways.
Took 1.5 years to get papers on a gelding that I sent 2 signed transfers in on. Thought I was doing the right thing by documenting both previous owners, boy did that turn into a nightmare.

Another one was on a colt that needed stallion report signed on. Took forever, but they finally tracked down previous stallion owner and handled it all for me.
They will send a letter to previous owner on file for you, but if its to a bad address and not membership in good standing there isnt much they can do.

Good luck with all of it, AQHA can be hard to deal with when it comes to back paperwork.
