Location: Cocoa, Florida | This is the first hurricane we've had in a little over a decade, which is surprisingly good luck for us. Keep those in your prayers in the direct path, it's never fun with horses and big storms like this!
Ga, SC and NC look to be in direct paths as well.

Location: "...way down south in the Everglades..." | Luckily we are pretty far south so we weren't directly in the path. Just dealing with flooding, heavy rain, and some high winds yesterday and today (branches, debris). Prayers to those in the eye! I heard from some friends up that way that they are without power and flooded but all good. News says over 250k people without power. Just had some on and off power issues here. Luckily this storm didn't strengthen more that a cat 1! |

Location: Cocoa, Florida | It's very windy here but we just now got our first squall of rain in Brevard county (near cocoa beach) off and on showers but it seems to be dissipating as it cuts through the state, usually the storms coming from the west die off when they hit our St. John's river which runs north and south down the entire east coast almost.
We're getting the last big outer band now, don't even know if it was part of the storm but seems to be moving in the same direction.
My horses are turned out on 40 acres today. |

Location: Feeding mosquitos, FL | Phew. It's good to be back on the internets. We just got power back after Hermine passed over my house early early Friday morning. The eye actually woke me up because the wind STOPPED howling.
We were lucky - a couple of small trees down on my fences and one big tree down by the barn but nothing major. There are folks with trees on their houses. Most of Tallahassee is still without power. Tons of trees came down and took out large chunks of the power grid.
Hurricane season is so fun! /sarcasm |
