Expert Posts: 1432 Location: Never in one place long	We are planning a thanksgiving trip to CO and found a nice house for rent in Buena Vista, CO... has anyone been here, is there a lot to do for adults and a teenager? We have been to Denver, Estes Park and Co Springs and really liked those all so don't know if we should just go there?? thinking might be hard to access Estes Park that time of year maybe? I'd love to hear places you've been you liked and things to do so we can decide what we should do!

It's not my fault I'm perfect Posts: 13739 Location: Where the long tails flow, ND	My aunt lives in Estes and we visited one Thanksgiving, it wasn't bad. There was one day it was storming really bad so the trek up there was a bit scary but worth it! Have fun!

Member Posts: 6	I have only driven through Buena Vista to eat, and it didn't seem like the town had a whole lot going on besides places to eat at least on the main drag. Salida is a beautiful 30 minute drive from Buena Vista, and it has a cute downtown area with places to eat along the river, lots of cute shops to please everyone, very dog friendly if you have dogs. Of course, that whole area has lots of forest roads right off the main highway you can take to spend part or all day exploring.

Elite Veteran Posts: 911 Location: Durango CO	I live in Durango. Super awesome tourist spots. Fantastic restaurants, shopping, lots of hiking. Hot springs great hotels, awesome bars and a dance floor at the Wild Horse! Love this town.

"Spaz-tacular"!! Posts: 20309 Location: Bennett, CO	"Bueany" ( It is brounounced Bu-ney Vista- Not the spanish Buena) is a fun little town. Not far from the old mining town of St. Elmo- totally worth the drive! be sure to feed the chipmuncks there...Also plan on taking a dip in the Mt. Princeton Hot Springs- We like to actually go down to the river, and there are lots of places where the hot water boils up... build yourself a little hot tub out of river rocks and you can regulate how warm or cold the water is based on how much river water you let flow in. mt princeton hotsporings is on your way to st elmo... you can rent a razor or 4 wheeler in St elmo and explore the old mining town and historic mines- or you can hike them on foot... they are all do-able by an able bodied person. Grizzly lake is stunning
