Question on Triple Crown Complete Feed

Has anyone had this feed sour? I have it in a big plastic barrel and it's HOT in Texas! It seems to swell and become sour.

I would be buying less of it so that way it would not spoil, the humidity is what is making it go bad so fast, sitting in that barrel with all the heat humidity will make any feed go bad fast..

This is so true and one of the reasons I quit feeding processed feeds.

RE: Question on Triple Crown Complete Feed
connieh-
Due to hot temperatures we do recommend a few things when using higher fat feeds:
1. Buy in smaller amounts
(if possible
)
2. Store most of the feed in a cooler location, leaving a smaller supply out in the barn
(if possible
)
3. Store feed in the bags
(the bag actually does provide a barrier against moisture to some degree
), put the open bags in a container, store feed in a cooler location
(like the corner of your feed room, tack room etc
) with the feed being out of direct sunlight, keep off the ground, keep away from the weather.
4. We do not recommend storing feed outside or in locations where you can reach extreme temperatures as well as temperature swings
(cold at night, very hot in the day
). An example would be storing your feed up high in a hay loft.
